Planning for school – Part 1 of 2
Planning for your child’s school year starts in Week Zero – that’s the last week of holidays, when teachers are at school and getting ready for the year ahead. Proactive communication with your child’s teacher, at a quiet time of year, will make a huge difference.
Your host for this first Meet-up of 2022 is Mia Bell who has two kids with Mito, one is in primary school and one in high school. This Meet-up will allow parents to come together to discuss how they can best plan for their children’s start to the new school year.Below are the digital start times based on State/Territory:

Get to know your host: Mia Bell
Originally from Adelaide, Mia was living in the UK when she was diagnosed with Mitochondrial Myopathy 3302 A>G in 2003. This diagnosis was reconfirmed in Australia in 2014.
Now living back in Adelaide, Mia works part-time and has two primary school aged children. There is an extensive family history of mito, and Mia has shared her story in aid of raising awareness of mito and in support of mito donation.
Mia held the position of MCAP Chair from 2018 -2020, has run the SA Support Group for Mito Foundation and volunteers on the Patient Support Network. Mia continues to be an active member of the mito community.
