About the event
Mito Meet-ups are online support groups led by mito community members. These group calls are safe spaces to connect with people who understand the challenges of living with mitochondrial disease (mito). These are supportive environments to share experiences and find understanding.
Before you attend
Our events are held online or in person.
- For online events, we will send you the joining details after you register.
- For in-person events, the location and arrival details will be listed on the event page or shared after you register.
All Mito Foundation events are captioned. If you need other support to take part, such as help joining online, mobility access, or another adjustment, please contact us before the event.
Please read our event guidelines before attending. They explain what to expect and how we help keep Mito Foundation events respectful, inclusive and safe.
Meet your host
Rebecca Walsh
Bec lives in Toowoomba, Queensland. She was diagnosed with mito in 2016 after years of persistent symptoms. To combat the isolation that mito brings, she founded “Girl with the Green Bow” in 2017, a platform documenting her journey. Bec is passionate about raising awareness of mito. One of the ways she does this is through her mito merchandise. She enjoys connecting and supporting other mito community members.
