About the event

Mito Meet-ups are online support groups led by mito community members. These group calls are safe spaces to connect with people who understand the challenges of living with mitochondrial disease (mito). These are supportive environments to share experiences and find understanding.

Photo of Rebecca Walsh

Rebecca Walsh

Bec lives in Toowoomba, Queensland. She was diagnosed with mito in 2016 after years of persistent symptoms. To combat the isolation that mito brings, she founded “Girl with the Green Bow” in 2017, a platform documenting her journey. Bec is passionate about raising awareness of mito. One of the ways she does this is through her mito merchandise. She enjoys connecting and supporting other mito community members.
