Art therapy

This Mito Wellbeing Call will be an opportunity to take part in an online art therapy session. It will be led by art therapist Amanda Scott. Amanda has been running various programs since 2003 and is registered with the Australian professional body for Art Therapists (ANZACATA).

Art therapists use art to help people express themselves. This creative process is known to improve health, including physical, emotional, and cognitive wellbeing. It also helps people connect better with others and find more meaning in life.

This session will take place via Zoom. You do not need expensive or dedicated tools to take part. If you have any of the following, they can be used for the session:

  • paper and pencils/pastels/pens
  • paintbrush and paints
  • magazine/scissors/glue stick/coloured paper

Or you can try gathering natural materials from your environment. These could include sticks, leaves, and twigs.

If you have any questions, contact us on the Helpline and one of the Support Services team will assist.
