Lisa Cheng

Meet Lisa Cheng:

Lisa has a wealth of experience in brand and fundraising campaigns in the health and disability sectors. She’s spearheaded significant fundraising revenue initiatives in both her current and previous not-for-profit roles. We are excited to work alongside Lisa as we continue striving to create a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals and families affected by mito.

Acknowledgement of service and thanks to outgoing board members:

As we welcome Peter and Lisa to our Board of Directors, we also want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to 3 outgoing members who have dedicated their time, expertise, and passion to our cause. We extend our sincerest thanks to each of them for their tireless efforts and unwavering commitment to advancing our mission.

Ross Wall

Ross Wall has played an invaluable role in driving the success of the Mito Foundation since its inception in 2009. Most crucially, establishing the Bloody Long Walk series — our flagship fundraising activity. What started as a single event in Sydney in 2013 is now a national series of 11 events across Australia.

Ross’ legacy will continue to inspire us, and his impact on the foundation will be felt for years to come.

Fiona Elmer

In addition to serving as a board member, Fiona Elmer participated in our Mito Community Advisory Panel as both member and Chair. She was also part of the Strategic Alignment Review Panel and the Risk Management Committee, as well as facilitating various local mito community support activities.

We thank Fiona for her generous contributions to achieving positive outcomes for the mito community and Mito Foundation.

Aleksandra Filipovska

Professor Aleksandra Filipovska contributed many years of service on the Board and our Scientific and Medical Advisory Panel. Prof Filipovska is a pioneer of mitochondrial disease research. We especially thank Aleksandra for her commitment to providing independent peer review and improving the Mito Foundation’s research funding processes.
