Mito Foundation and the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation (UMDF) have awarded more than $500,000 in research grants to 7 promising projects across the globe.
This funding supports research and clinical work that advances cures and treatments for primary mitochondrial disease.
More than 70 grant applications were submitted — a significant increase from 2024. Each application was reviewed by a panel of experts including UMDF and Mito Foundation staff members, scientific and medical advisors, and external experts to determine the winners, who were named at UMDF’s Mitochondrial Medicine Conference in St. Louis on Friday, June 20.
