Calling Participants for Research Studies

The mito community is invited to participate in various research studies.

Primary and Respite Care – Curtin University, WA

Curtin University is conducting a study into primary and respite care for children with rare and genetic diseases in WA. Participants will be interviewed about their experiences with care services. This study could influence policies, improve advocacy and refine respite care services. Genetic Information and Insurance – University of Sydney, NSW

A University of Sydney student is studying the use of genetic information in insurance in Australia. This is an opportunity for the mito community to share their experiences about obtaining insurance. To participate, click here to complete an online survey. Exercise and Mitochondrial Myopathies – University of Sydney, NSW and Sydney Children’s Hospital at Westmead, NSW

The Children’s Hospital at Westmead and the University of Sydney are conducting a study into exercise for children aged between 6 and 17 with mitochondrial myopathies in NSW. The program involves one-on-one exercise sessions with a physiologist twice a week for 12 weeks. Participants will complete questionnaires and undergo tests to measure strength and fitness.
