Electricity and Gas Rebates
Medical Cooling and Heating Electricity Concession Scheme
Mito patients who have issues with regulating their body temperature and hold a Pensioner Concession Card may be eligible for the Medical Cooling and Heating Electricity Concession Scheme, in addition to the electricity rebate listed above. Find out more.

Pensioner Concession Card holders may be eligible for rebates on their water bill through their water supplier.
Taxi Subsidy Scheme
The Taxi Subsidy Scheme subsidises taxi travel—half of the total fare, up to a maximum of $25 per trip—for people with severe disabilities. Mito patients who have severe disabilities, including mobility and vision issues, and severe intellectual impairment are eligible to apply. Find out more.
Disability Parking Scheme
The scheme allows permit holders to park in disabled spaces and to receive concessions in most metered and/or timed public parking spaces. Mito patients whose ability to walk is severely restricted may apply for a permit. The application form and further information is available here.
The Companion Card allows a person’s carer free entry into participating venues and events. They are available to people with a lifelong need for a high level of care. Find out more.
Telephone Services: Priority/Special Assistance
Some telecommunication providers offer priority or special assistance to people who have a life-threatening medical condition and whose life may be at risk without access to a fully operational phone service. Mito patients who are at high risk of cardiovascular emergencies or patients who live alone, without support or in remote locations may be eligible.
