Mito Foundation Research Equipment Grants are available to researchers investigating primary mitochondrial disease (mito) who are unable to access certain pieces of equipment that are vital or would greatly advance their work into mito.

Mito Foundation Research Equipment Grants offer two forms of funding:

Mito Foundation Research Equipment Grants

Up to A$50,000 to supplement the funding provided by the laboratory or other funding sources for the purchase of the equipment.

Mito Foundation Large Research Equipment Grants

Amounts above A$50,000 and up to A$300,000 to supplement the funding provided by the laboratory or other funding sources for the purchase of the equipment.

Funding Rounds

We are transitioning our Quarterly Grant Round to a Bi-annual Grant Round. This means application rounds for this grant will open twice a year. The next funding round for these grants will now open in February 2024.

Mito Foundation Large Research Equipment Grants

The Mito Foundation Large Research Equipment Grant will not be offered in 2023. If applicable, please submit an application for a Mito Foundation Research Equipment Grant.

Application Eligibility

1. Research must be focused on primary mitochondrial disease.
2. All application information must be submitted.
