Electricity and Gas Rebates
Medical Cooling and Heating Electricity Concession Scheme
Mito patients who have issues with regulating their body temperature and hold a Pensioner Concession Card may be eligible for a discount on summer electricity costs (1 November – 30 April) in addition to the rebate listed above. Find out more.
Water and sewerage
Pensioner Concession Card holders may be eligible for rebates on their water bill through their water supplier.
Multi- Purpose Taxi Program (MPTP)
Mito patients who are unable to use public transport safely and independently, and who hold a Pensioner Concession Card or can demonstrate financial hardship can apply for MPTP membership to receive subsidised taxi fares. The Companion Card allows a person’s carer free entry into participating venues and events, as well as provides free transport for carers on all Victorian public transport services. They are available to carers of those with a lifelong need for a high level of care. Find out more.
Telephone Services: Priority/Special Assistance
Some telecommunication providers offer priority or special assistance to people who have a life-threatening medical condition and whose life may be at risk without access to a fully operational phone service. Mito patients who are at high risk of cardiovascular emergencies or patients who live alone, without support or in remote locations may be eligible.

Soundfair provides audiology services for people with impaired hearing including a hearing aid bank.
Life Support Concession
Pension Concession Card/Health Care Card holders who use electrically operated life support machines such as oxygen concentrators and dialysis machines may be eligible for a quarterly discount on their electricity and/or water bills. Find out more.
